Some moments in photography feel almost too perfect to be real.
Two lynxes, high up in the trees, sitting close together in the cold January air at Wildpark Schwarze Berge. One leaning into the other, their noses almost touching, their eyes meeting for just a moment.
The low winter sun illuminated them from behind, catching every strand of fur and turning their silhouettes into a warm, glowing outline against the dark forest.
Maybe they were actually snuggling. Maybe they were simply enjoying each other’s company. I don’t really know. I just know that, for a brief moment, everything came together: the light, the pose, the atmosphere, and two lynxes looking like they had nowhere else they needed to be.
So I waited, watched, enjoyed and pressed the shutter…
